The skiing Oh yes! - Vails famous Champagne powder and being on the same latitude as Spain and enjoying circa 300 days of sunshine per year, the Vail valley is just about as good as you can get! - There's nothing better than skiing the untracked, morning slopes and having the sun warm you for most of the day
With 193 runs on Vail mountain alone there is a lot to ski, now add Beaver Creek with runs to suit all levels--including extreme terrain for expert skiers and boarders; Arrowhead and Bachelor Gulch you have available an awesome number and variety of runs. As Vail resorts also own Breckenridge, Arapaho and Keystone -all on the same ski pass you need a full season to do it all justice!
We are talking about a dry powder Colorado resorts where the snow can often be chest deep, and so light--skis glide right through it. The place to dream about when the first snowflakes fall.
Take advantage of the mostly overnight snow the valley's multi access points to the mountain, so little queuing. Try the high speed quad lift and get up to Game Creek Bowl and carve your signature on a fresh palette. Or try the Vista Bahn Express or the Eagle Bahn Express Gondola Hop off and ride the Pride Express Lift, then the Game Creek Express Lift. Take a warm-up on Showboat and get your knees pumping on Deuces Wild or Ouzo.
Snow Boarders? There are Boarder Parks at both Beaver Creek & Vail with great half-pipes. The Snowboarding terrain has jumps, banks, slides and rails. And a 'Boarders only' warming Yurt - mountain hut at Beaver Creek mountain. Vail alone has nearly as much skiing as the 3 Valleys combined but add Beaver Creek and Arrowhead & wow you have serious amount of skiing -- you need 10 days for just the main trails!
