The Town
Breckenridge is justifiably famous for its high altitude powder snow and long season.
It has real character providing an interesting backdrop to the fabulous skiing. Dating back to the Mid 1800's and originally established as a gold mining town, at one level Breckenridge maintains its charming historic feel at another it's a wild ski resort and has great bars and many options for both daytime and evening entertainment . Indeed, unlike many ski resorts the town comes alive at night.
Breckenridge is also renowned as being a snow sure resort offering a long powder season for skiers and boarders alike.
In common with the Colorado resorts of Beaver Creek, Arrowhead, Keystone and Arapaho Basin, Breckenridge is owned and operated by Vail resorts. In the last three seasons, there has been substantial investment and upgrades to the lift system transforming Breckenridge in to a world class resort.
