Ski equipment
Where to buy your ski's Boards is a common question Sorry, no absolute answer it depends on when, what and why!
Basically if you're only going to ski or board once a year your equipment will be out of date in 3 years after only 3 weeks use - it's much better to hire! The exception is Boots - ill fitting boots will ruin everything. Badly fitting boots are the main cause of domestic disputes and may make a grown man cry!
Top Tip - Buy your boots in the UK - Once you have found a pair that appears to fit. Then browse the store for at least an hour with them on. Inc if poss, going up and down stairs - only then will you know!
If you really wish to have your own ski's etc but don't plan to have lots of ski holidays then I would say buy last years model at the end of the season or ex demo and save hundreds of £s.
But if you are a keen skier and really want the best then - buying in the UK is often the best option. However, If you're going to the USA you can try a different ski every day, then when you find the one you like buy it at a discount. I understand some European ski hire stores are now doing this but not all, when the smaller stores are busy they often only have rubbish equipment left to hire.
